It looks like Dawncraft has the mod in the 'Blacklist' mode and nothing being excluded (meaning every spawner despawns after the set count). They work like berry bushes, they can all be found as plants in a swamp, right click them to get their drops, you can also just take the plants and place them where you want for easier access.
